About Krystal

Krystal Brooks is offering the residents of Simcoe North a unique perspective to effectively address the mental health care crisis in Ontario.

Krystal is from Rama First Nation and her Anishnaabemowin name is Biiwaabik Nibi Kwe, or Still Water Woman. As a survivor of human trafficking and the child welfare system, Krystal has a deep understanding of the mental health challenges stemming from intergenerational trauma and homelessness, particularly for Indigenous peoples in Ontario. Her experience equips her with a powerful voice for underrepresented Ontarians at Queen’s Park.

Krystal firmly believes that incorporating Indigenous viewpoints into environmental and social justice is fundamental to how we address the climate crisis in Ontario. She hopes to offer insights to support sound public policies that protect people and nature.

Standing with Mike Schreiner to offer the leadership we need to build the Ontario we want, Krystal is ready to help the communities of Simcoe North.
