Kristopher Rivard

Kris Rivard is a former student of Canadore College in North Bay, completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management in April of 2018. His Canadore studies followed his acquisition of a B.A. in Geography from Laurentian University in Sudbury and other post graduate work at Carleton University in Ottawa.

Kris was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in North Bay in 1992 and then raised and educated in Sturgeon Falls becoming fully bilingual. Kris is thankful for the many opportunities to develop his love of the outdoors and to participate in a variety of school and community sports.

Recently married, Kris and his wife, Janique moved back to their hometown in 2017 and are enjoying their home in Sturgeon Falls, keeping themselves busy with their jobs. Kris is a Septic Inspector with the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority and Janique is a Personal Support Worker with Community Living.

Kris is active in local hockey and soccer leagues. Like all good Northerners, he loves anything that has to do with the outdoors. He is involved in the Sturgeon Falls Beautification Committee and is the co-founder of the West Nipissing Green Initiative.

Kris pursued the nomination for the Green Party candidacy motivated by his life-long interest in the environment and sustainability.

Kris Rivard est originaire de Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. Parfaitement bilingue, c’est au collège « Canadore » de North Bay que Kris obtient son certificat en « Environmental Management » en avril 2018. De là, il complète son baccalauréat en géographie à l’Université Laurentienne de Sudbury puis complémente ses études à l’Université Carleton d’Ottawa.

Kris naît à l’hôpital St-Joseph de North Bay en 1992. Élevé dans le village de Sturgeon Falls, il y vivra plusieurs expériences qui façonneront son amour pour la nature. Impliqué, entre autres, dans les sports communautaires dont le hockey et le soccer, il siège sur le comité d’embellissement de Sturgeon Falls et est le co-fondateur de l’initiative verte du Nipissing Ouest.

Nouvellement mariés, Kris et sa femme Janique ont choisi de s’établir dans leur village natal. À l’heure actuelle, Kris est inspecteur de fausses septiques pour le « North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority ». De son côté, Janique est préposée aux services de soutien chez « Community Living ».

Passionné par l’environnement et le développement durable, Kris est le candidat de prédilection pour représenter la circonscription de Timiskaming—Cochrane sous la bannière du Parti vert de l’Ontario.
