Daniella Mikanovsky

Daniella Mikanovsky is passionate about addressing climate justice in her community and is thrilled to be running as Thornhill’s Green candidate.

Currently a student at York University, Daniella is working towards a joint Law and Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies. Prior to this, Daniella actively engaged in local politics on a municipal level while attending McMaster University in Hamilton. She worked with Environment Hamilton on their Climate Ready Hamilton project, an effort to protect communities vulnerable to extreme weather caused by climate change. Her undergraduate thesis, “Shoveling the Way for Hamilton’s Sidewalks,” influenced the city’s municipal policy on public walkway maintenance.

Daniella is excited to work with Mike Schreiner at Queen’s Park as a strong voice for the residents of Thornhill.
