About Cara

Cara Brideau is running in Scarborough Southwest to champion the Greens’ progressive, environmentally focused platform.

The value of hard work runs deep in Cara’s family of farmers and trades workers. A proud electrician, Cara is an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). In 2022, she spearheaded the IBEW 353 Pride Working Group to petition for a float in the annual Pride Parade and hosted events during Pride month to help bring LGBTQS2+ members of the local together. Cara also worked with other brothers and sisters in her local union to form the first Electrical Workers’ Minority Caucus: Ontario Chapter, promoting equity, equal opportunity, and employment for underrepresented workers. Cara has also volunteered on federal campaigns in Scarborough Southwest for the Green Party of Canada.

Cara holds an honours diploma from George Brown College and a Qualification Certificate from the Ontario Electrical Apprenticeship. She resides in Scarborough, a place she has been proud to call home for five years.

Cara is ready to be a strong voice at Queen’s Park for the residents of Scarborough Southwest.
