Michelle Bourdeau is an environmental professional with over 10 years of project management experience and a BSc from the University of Toronto. She currently works in municipal government, implementing programs and policies that address increasing urban food production, creating healthy urban ecosystems, environmental awareness campaigns, and biological monitoring and reporting. She places a high value on building community through volunteer experience such as coordinating a “friends of” park group, a casual adult sports league, serving on the Newmarket Environmental Advisory Committee, and most recently coordinating casual mom meet-ups in the Newmarket-Aurora community.
Michelle strongly believes that tackling environmental threats and investing in people and small businesses come hand-in-hand. You cannot address one without addressing the other, or you will set yourself up for failure. The Green Party approach embraces forward-thinking, innovative solutions that will ensure the province does not get left behind in a changing global society.
Three years ago, Michelle and her family decided to move to Newmarket because of the welcoming community, beautiful green spaces and thriving small businesses. She can often be found shopping on Main street, walking around Fairy Lake, or hiking the Tom Taylor trail with her husband Ryan, son William (4), daughter Hazel (2) and two dogs.
Michelle would be honoured to serve this community and looks forward to meeting new people on the campaign.
