Gordon Kubanek is a professional Engineer turned High School science teacher who lives on his hobby farm with his wife and three daughters in Kars. He has been involved with the Green party since the 1980s. He is committed to ensuring that ALL the citizens of Carleton share in the high quality of life that the economy and environment offer here and believes that only the Greens have an approach that can sustainably ensure well-paying jobs and a healthy environment for future generations. To demonstrate that commitment he has solar panels on his roof, heats with geothermal energy, drives an electric car and has a large garden, cares for bees in his backyard to live as close to the land as possible. He is running for the Green party because he believes that only the Greens have a true long term vision that all Canadians can share in.
Gordon was educated at Queen’s University as a Chemical Engineer and first worked in British Columbia before pursuing a Master degree at McGill. After that he had a change of heart and retrained as a teacher where he has taught Science and Math for 20 years in the USA, Quebec, Australia and now Ottawa.
