What a fantastic first week we’ve had!
Our leader Mike Schreiner kicked things off early Wednesday morning on the grounds of Queen’s Park with 30 of his fellow candidates. Launching our biggest campaign ever, he announced our full slate to Ontarians. Never before has a Green Party filled the slate in Ontario federally or provincially before an election even started!
Later that evening, Mike hosted our first-ever Virtual Town Hall. Over 6,000 participants asked Mike questions on the Green Party and our vision of Ontario with Green MPPs at Queen’s Park. A podcast of the event is now available.
Yesterday we launched GPOtv. It’s an innovative way for Ontarians to see the Green Party front and center throughout the campaign, and we encourage you to visit the site often.
Today, Mike held a joint news conference with Canada’s Green MP and leader Elizabeth May, as she campaigns with us in Southern Ontario. They challenged Ontarians to reject politics as usual – attack ads and hyper-partisanship – and vote Green on October 6th.
This week was a great start to our election campaign, and we have more events, announcements and surprises ready for next week.
Implementing our ambitious campaign plan takes time, the right people, logistical prowess, and financial resources. That’s why I’m asking you to make a monetary donation to the Green Party today.
All of our numbers are moving in the right direction. Our membership base is over 90% larger compared to January. Nearly 6,000 have signed the Let Mike Speak petition. We’ve received dozens of media hits and TV spots. Candidates and volunteers have knocked on tens of thousands of doors. And our poll numbers are trending upwards.
