Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Today is an important opportunity to reflect and act on the need to protect and enrich our collective home -- earth.

This year, Earth Day is particularly important, as the leaders of 160 countries will be coming together in New York to sign the COP21 Agreement that was adopted in Paris on December 12, 2015. According to the UN, never before have so many countries been present on the first day of an agreement.

International Day of Pink

Today is International Day of Pink, an observance that encourages us to celebrate diversity in our community and ensure that we continue taking steps toward a more tolerant society. Everyone in our province deserves respect.

The GPO stands with those who do not tolerate bullying, homophobia and transphobia.

We must be aware of the fact that bullying exists on a daily basis, and we must work together to stop it. This is particularly true in youth groups and schools. We owe it to our children to ensure that these are inclusive spaces to express themselves.

It's time to get big money out of Ontario politics

The rot of big money in Ontario politics stinks. People want action now to clean up the mess.

Comprehensive fundraising reform is essential to renewing our democracy. Instead it seems we have politicians playing political games -- to fix the political games that got us here in the first place.

Happy Easter!

Easter marks an important holiday for Christian families to come together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a time to honour their faith and to spend time with close friends and family.

World Water Day

Today we join with the United Nations to recognize World Water Day. We as Ontarians are fortunate to live in a province with vast fresh-water resources, and therefore we have a responsibility to protect these resources for our children and future generations.
